Handmade with repurposed beechwood and made to last for years. Beechwood is a resilient wood when it comes to water and natural moisture-wicking, making it work well for preserving your soap. The minimal surface area of this dish keeps the soap from sticking and the wide-angled indentations allows water to quickly drain away, increasing the life-span of your soap.

Use your soap dishes in pairs to extend the life of the dish. Use one dish for 2-3 weeks, and then switch it out with a second dish while allowing the first dish to completely dry out. Switch your soap dishes out every 2-3 weeks and you will find your soap and your dish will last much longer.

Standard size is 4" long, 2.75" wide, 3/4" thick.
Larger size is 8" long, 2.75" wide, 3/4" thick.

• Data from the Forest Inventory Analysis (FIA) prepared by the USDA Forest Service shows U.S. beechwood to be one of the top sustainably managed wood species in the USA with a healthy growth rate.
• Not only is this soap dish made from a sustainable wood, but it is also handmade with reclaimed beechwood scraps. This decreases the demand for newly sourced lumber and gives new purpose to something that might have otherwise been discarded.

Le Parfait glass jars are 100% mineral (soda-lime-silica) glass, making them fully recyclable an unlimited number of times. Additionally, Le Parfait glass adheres to the most stringent of European/French standards for glass approved for use with food products. It’s resilient, air and water proof, and preserves flavors without affecting taste.

The metal lids of Ball and Kerr mason jars are lined with plastic and used to contain Bisphenol A, so purchasing them secondhand puts you at risk of contamination. With Le Parfait, your food comes in contact with only glass.

With Le Parfait jars, there’s no waste even when cooking large quantities of food. You can even use these jars to preserve all the fruits and vegetables from your garden without wasting anything. And the clear glass allows you to see inside, so no food gets forgotten and therefore thrown away.

When you buy a Le Parfait jar, it’s for a lifetime! A jar never breaks down so you can keep it for a very long time! You should find that it is only the rubber seals or caps that may require replacing.

Le Parfait products are safe for use in the freezer - just be sure to leave proper head space for expansion of the contents. Le Parfait can also take the burden off your freezer! It’s true that when you decide to deep freeze your food, you think you’re saving up time as it’s quicker to fill up your freezer rather than preserving. But think again... how long does it take to turn your frozen goods into something you can eat? Quite a while, as defrosting can be time-consuming and more importantly may dry out your product. Preserving, on the other hand, eliminates the need for defrosting, allowing your product to be ready to eat quicker. Preserving is ways easier, even though it takes a bit of preparation time. No need to wait for thawing, your recipe is ready in the blink of an eye! And don’t forget that your preserves can tag along with you almost anywhere... your frozen goods can’t!

Stainless steel wire clamp, airtight natural rubber seals, glass jars are 100% mineral (soda-lime-silica) glass, making them fully recyclable. Additionally, Le Parfait glass adheres to the most stringent of European/French standards for glass approved for use with food products.

Use to store leftovers in the fridge and eliminate the use of aluminum foil, plastic wrap, wax paper, ziplock bags, and plastic storage tubs.

When they design and create their sustainable products, they take the time to visit the farms and workshops that manufacture them first, oversee their operation and ensure that everything is created fairly, while minimizing waste.

The Jungle Culture cutlery sets are hand carved at a carpentry studio located approximately 150km from Hanoi, in the rural province of Thanh Hoa. The topography of Thanh Hoa province makes it the perfect location for bamboo growth. Large swathes of the region are covered in steep, rocky mountains and the annual rainfall average in Thanh Hoa sits at around 70 inches. This unique ecosystem in Thanh Hoa means that bamboo can grow in abundance, and can be sustainably farmed by local people who have used it for construction and handicrafts for generations.

The Jungle Culture team partnered with a group of talented artisan craftspeople committed to supporting ethical and organic production and use only basic tools to aid the creation of their products. The owner of the farm and craft workshop that produces these cutlery sets is called Le Xuan Ha or "Ha" for short which means river in Vietnamese. He is a naturist and lives in a compound of 5 bamboo houses that he helped build, surrounded by mountains. The popularity of the hand-carved utensil sets has prompted Há to employ and train his family, friends and several other villagers. Providing them with jobs and skills while he has turned his focus to building bamboo houses which serve as accommodation for members of the local community.

Há treats his workers with respect and pays them fairly. He now employs between 5-10 people who carve cutlery and help with the construction of his bamboo houses. The pouches that house the sets are hand sewn by a group of seamstresses in Hoi An, Vietnam.

Jungle Culture is a proud member of the 1% for the Planet global organization and movement. They pledge 1% of their sales to the preservation and restoration of the natural environment. They donate to domestic and international grassroots and environmental groups which helps make a difference in their local communities.

Utensils are completely handmade with organic bamboo. The pouches are made using natural jute and organic cotton. The printed tag is made using a synthetic material. Comes complete with a bamboo straw and coconut cleaner.

Insects and plants will have no trouble breaking them down.

Straw cleaner can be separated at the end of life. The coconut fibers are compostable, while the wire can be recycled in metal recycling.

The pouches are made using natural jute and organic cotton and are biodegradable and compostable once you remove the printed tag. These can also be recycled as a textile.

These reusable bamboo straws are an eco-friendly and sustainable solution to plastic, made without the need for any harmful pesticides or chemicals. They are grown and handcrafted in rural Vietnam. Fully biodegradable and 100% organic.

How to clean Bamboo Straws:
1) We advise people to boil their bamboo straws in a little salt and vinegar before using them for the first time. This helps to remove any residue, or remove any ‘woody’ aroma.

2) After each use, rinse your plant based drinking straws under the tap and every so often clean the inside using a cleaning brush. You can even put your Jungle Straws in the dishwasher, but make sure to switch off the hot & dry function and dry them immediately. Easy? We told you so!

3) Always allow your bamboo straws to dry fully but fear not; they dry very quickly! Store your straws in a well-ventilated place, and never in air-tight containers or jars.

4) Aside from keeping your Jungle Straws dry, keep them well-ventilated as well.

Tip: Leaving your Jungle Straws to dry naturally in sunlight turns your straws into a bright shade of golden yellow!

• These Bamboo Straws are produced by Jungle Straws, a socially responsible company that manufactures and supplies SGS certified, food safe bamboo straws and eco-friendly products that promote sustainable living. Since the beginning, Jungle Straws has worked to support, educate, and inspire individuals and businesses of all kinds to make the switch to reusable and zero waste alternatives in order to reduce the devastating effects that single-use plastic pollution is having on our planet. They oversee all aspects of the manufacturing and supply chain operations in person, including the source of the raw materials in Vietnam and work to build ethical relationships with the artisans with whom they work alongside.
• Jungle Straws proudly challenges modern production techniques that place too much emphasis on profit at the expense of people and our environment. Their values in eco-sustainability are not just about how cheaply a product can be manufactured. Instead, it is of great importance that their bamboo straws are sourced responsibly, using natural and organic materials. This limits waste throughout the entire production process, and helps to support local communities in rural areas. Their farms and workshops use sustainable bamboo and natural materials, grown responsibly in Vietnam. During the harvest and production phase, no chemicals are used. Their bamboo is cultivated organically, without the need for any harmful fertilizers or pesticides, and so growing it doesn’t contribute to any unwelcome elements entering ground-water.
• Why use bamboo? Not only does it look and feel great, but it is 100% sustainable, fully biodegradable, and can be harvested in as little as 3-5 years. Bamboo releases 35% more oxygen into our atmosphere and absorbs more carbon dioxide when compared to other plants. Jungle Straws reusable alternatives and zero waste swaps help reduce the heart-breaking and saddening use of plastic and single use plastic items, which are contributing to the demise of wildlife and ocean habitats all around the world.
These bamboo straws have been independently tested in order to comply with The European Framework Regulation (EC) 1935 / 2004 and hold the associated SGS certifications for food contact materials.

• EU Regulation 1935/2004 covers all food contact materials and articles which are intended to come into contact with food. The regulation ensures that food contact materials do not threaten human health, or change the composition, odor, or taste of the food product.
• SGS Certified. SGS is recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity. SGS inspects, tests, certifies, and verifies that products comply with global standards and local regulations and covers the entire supply chain from raw materials to final consumption.
